I know times are hard for a lot of us, so my bro being the keen, insightful type that he is decided to have a sale. ALL TEES are $5 the normal price. It’s graduation season, and I know a lot of you have recently come into some small fortunes, so what’s 15-bucks on a crispy new shirt for the summer?
…that I post up a song dedicated to sneakers since I devote so much blog space them. Now I see that someone else felt the need to express their love for our favorite accessory, which is known by many names, but most commonly sneakers or kicks. Allow me to re-introduce myselfEklipse Tha Champloo, and his freestyle “Kickin”. The title pretty much says it all. If you appreciate sneakers, you will appreciate the track. It’s pretty brief, so individuals afflicted with AD/HD (like myself) can enjoy it as well. And if you’re wondering…he’s the guy NOT looking at the camera, wearing the DWEEB tee.
After seeing the TK Society and the silhouette of the Skytop II, I was feeling a bit let down by Supra…that is until I saw these beauties. Here we have a sample from Supra’s Fall 2009 offering. Skytops, and Vaiders, and Thunders OH MY! First we have the ever-so-popular Skytop TUF in a dopetastically fresh dark green color-way, which is set-off quite nicely with a contrasting, bright orange sole (they remind me of a duck for some reason). Next up is the Skytop’s little brother, the Vaider, in an equally nice color combo of black/grey/neon green. Last, but not least, we get to see a new model from Supra…the Thunder (which is Jim Greco’s signature shoe). This one is a bit low-key, which is a nice deviation from the slew of high-tops that are currently out. I was just about to order a pair of black and white TUF Skytops, but after seeing the Thunders I’m thinking I will wait a bit before I secure a pair of black/white sneakers. Although these will not see a stateside release for a few more months, Limited EDT has them now…so if you can read Japanese, and afford to have them EMS’d from the land of the rising sun, get ‘em…so I can hate on you (j/k). Konnichiwa bishes!
See Gabe, see Gabe produce, see Gabe make hits! Ever since my bro introduced me to this guy, his tracks have never ceased to amaze me. If you downloaded any of Ced Hughes’ mixtapes or are familiar with a one Kid A (or anyone else outta the Rebel E fam for that matter), you have undoubtedly heard the work of Mr. Niles. Well now he has dropped a digital sampler which is in short DOPE! All you would-be rappers dying to get noticed, step your beat game up and support local talent (i.e. Gabe Niles)!
Don’t get me wrong, Rihanna in the nude is amazing (if that really is her in the photos)…but anyone who knows me will tell you that I have this crazy thing for Jessica Simpson. Well the good folks over at Complex gave me a substantial dose of vitamin J, and I must say I love them for it. You may think she’s “too dumb” or “just another blonde”…but there’s no denying that she’s drop-dead gorgeous…I’d be willing to do the thinking for her haha. Kudos Complex…kudos!
I know I’ve been slacking on the updates, but I am in the fray right now (i.e. finals week). The madness will be over shortly. Until then, check these out…yes, another pair of shoes.
Appropriated From: Simply Sneakers (in case the heavy use of watermarks went unnoticed)
The other day while browsing the web, something out of the ordinary happened…I encountered an artist on Myspace that I actually wanted to add first. Unlike the thousands of self-proclaimed “Best” somethings out there (who usually are a far cry from that), this guy was different. I actually WANTED to listen to his music. So I reached out and in addition to being an extremely talented artist, he is cool peoples as well. His name is P.ersonal and he’s a A Vee-Aye native, hailing from Los Angeles, but currently living in South Florida.and I can’t give a bio as I do not know much about him, other than he lives in Cali. His music is dope, even though I’m not sure how one woiuld classify his music; it seems to be a mashup of different genres and styles. I definitely detect a bit of R&B, some pop, some hip-hop, and even some electronica (in the beats). He sites his influences as girls, failures, success, mom, friends, and moments…certainly topics that most normal human beings can relate to. Give him a listen, and I assure you that you will not be disappointed. Here are two tracks off of his debut album “Sydney in theory” which is set to drop sometime soon May 26. The first one (my favorite of the two) is titled “Take it to the Sky”, which features P.ersonal and him providing both the lyrics and vocals.
So I finally came to terms with not being able to take a roadtrip to camp out for a pair of Yeezys (last week of classes = much work to do if I’d like to graduate). Anyway, I decided that I will procure these and add them to my collection for the summer. I posted them a while back when they were first released in Korea, but now they are tentatively set to drop as a Quickstrike release in May. They have been dubbed the Caution SB Dunk Hi.
